According to updated data from the Union health ministry on Friday, India has reported 6,050 new coronavirus cases, the highest in 203 days. The number of active cases has increased to 28,303, while the death toll has risen to 5,30,943 with 14 new deaths reported. The daily positivity rate is 3.39%, and the weekly positivity rate is 3.02%.
The total number of cases reported in India is 4.47 crore (4,47,45,104), and the active cases account for 0.06% of the total infections. The national Covid recovery rate is 98.75%, and the case fatality rate is 1.19%. The number of people who have recovered from Covid has increased to 4,41,85,858.
The data also revealed that 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered so far as part of the nationwide vaccination drive. The highest number of cases recorded in a single day prior to this was 6,298 on September 16, 2022.
The new cases indicate a resurgence in Covid infections in India, and authorities are urging citizens to take precautions and get vaccinated to mitigate the spread of the virus.
